What is Lip, Cheek, and Jawline Augmentation?
As we age, we may lose volume in areas, like the lips and cheeks. And in some cases, we may be unhappy with the way our chin looks as well. At ENT Facial Plastics and Sleep Disorder Center, board-certified otolaryngologist/facial plastic surgeon Dr. B. Terry Seymour offers lip, cheek, and chin augmentation to create full volume and an attractive and youthful profile. This lower-face augmentation is accomplished using either temporary dermal fillers or longer-lasting silicone implants. During your initial consultation, Dr. Seymour can go over the pros and cons of both options in greater detail and determine which will be the best fit for your needs based on your concerns and goals. Contact our Atlanta or Lithonia, GA office to schedule a consultation, and learn how lip, cheek, and/or chin augmentation may help you attain a fuller, younger-looking face.

What Can I Expect from My Lip, Cheek, and Chin Augmentation?
Prior to your augmentation, Dr. Seymour will complete a thorough exam to develop a personalized treatment plan that is ideal for your unique facial structure. Your facial augmentation surgery is an outpatient procedure that is performed in our accredited surgical procedure room since patients are usually put under general anesthesia. When you are prepped, small incisions are created based on which area you are having augmented. Next, the selected implants will be placed and the incisions will be stitched. Implant surgery typically takes about an hour but may last longer if you are having more than one area addressed. Afterward, you will be released to a friend or family member to recover at home. After surgery, you should expect to experience bruising, swelling, and tightness for 1 – 2 weeks following your procedure. Strenuous activity that will strain your facial muscles (like weight training) should be skipped for 7 – 10 days. Total healing usually is achieved in about two months; however, the results last a long time. In some cases, a person may choose to get dermal filler injections prior to having a surgical augmentation. While these results will not last as long, they are a great nonsurgical alternative. Dr. Seymour can provide you more information on dermal filler options if you're interested.
